The quietest place on the record, and its strangest small act of self-respect.
The scene it came from
Not one car comes through the crossing, and he stands and waits anyway until the red turns. He knows how it looks: 「아무도 안 보는데 / 꼬박꼬박 기다린다 / 이런 점이 / 나도 이상하다」. Crossing would end it, and instead — 「기다리는 시간이 / 왠지 좋다」.
This is the second of the two times 「four o’clock」 appears in the lyrics. The signal ticking is the only sound in the street, and the album stops to listen to it. Then the light changes and 「벌써 달리고 있다」 — the body goes first again, before permission.
Sound notes
A short electronic beep is used as percussion — the crossing signal became an instrument. The arrangement hard-cuts between stopping and going, and clean guitar stabs appear only in the “going” sections. F major.

待ってるあいだが いちばん 静かだ — the waiting is the quietest part
A club track that finds its center in a pause. Nothing is happening at this crossing, and it’s the most deliberate three minutes of the night.
