Packing more the deeper you fall. Looking at a room only as something you’ll leave. Editing a goodbye in the drafts folder over and over, never sending it. The heart of the track is the confession that they never even counted how many times they lost someone this way.
Sound notes
94 BPM, C minor. The bass runs overdriven — the biggest, roughest sound on the record. And in the final chorus, for the only time on the album, the voice breaks open. Someone who always disappeared quietly says a thing out loud for the first time: “and still — I’m still here.”
