The fifth room moves — it’s the last train. A song about someone standing while the seats sit empty. The reason comes from their own mouth at the end: as long as I stand, it’s still today; the moment I sit, it turns into tomorrow.
The scene
The one who killed the office lights last. Someone exhausted standing in the elevator mirror; no memory of what today contained, and yet certain it contained something. One or two people per car — asleep or pretending, nobody looking at a screen. People moving at this hour somehow never meet each other’s eyes.
Sound notes
92 BPM, G minor. A fractured half-time under a deep 808 bass, with metallic percussion like rail joints. The tensest track on the album — the rhythm of the tracks holds the song’s tension for it.
One line
立っているうちは まだ 今日だ — as long as I stand, it’s still today
The final scene — stepping off, seeing someone standing behind a konbini’s glass across the road — that someone is the narrator of track 2. The album’s rooms witness each other like this.
