Behind the Track (SHINYA AFTER 1st) #4 — Say It Again

The center of the album, and the point where the two people are physically closest.

The scene it came from

She pretended not to hear what he said. She heard all of it. Now she wants it repeated — and the specification is precise: 「한 번만 더 / 같은 목소리로 / 같은 거리에서 / 말해 줬으면 해」. Not the words. The conditions.

The reason arrives in the second verse: 「아침이 오면 / 전부 멀어진다 / 그러니까 지금 중에」. She’s not collecting affection, she’s collecting evidence — breath landing on skin, fingers touching, each one counted as 「그것도 기억한다」·「그것도 남긴다」.

The bridge knows exactly what it’s doing: 「말하지 않아도 / 알고 있지만 / 알고 있으니까 / 듣고 싶어」.

Sound notes

The closest and driest mix on the album — almost no reverb on the lead. Ad-libs answer in every gap; the (Say it again) tails at the end of the chorus are those answers. The Rhodes is reduced to long held chords.

One line

覚えて おきたい / 形の まま — I want to keep it / in the shape it has

Not the memory of it. The shape. She’s trying to store something that only exists while it’s being said.
