Behind the Track #2 — 朝になれば他人 (Strangers by Morning)
Some closeness comes with an expiry time, and it’s almost always sunrise. 朝になれば他人 is about the last few hours of a relationship that can only exist at night.
The scene it came from
White light through a curtain gap, two glasses on the table — only one still wet. Every lyric in this song is really an observation of the speed at which morning fills a room: the more light comes in, the further apart two people drift back to where they started. That’s the whole song.
Sound notes
The kick is deliberately muffled, like a sound heard through a bedroom wall. The “Touch me, touch me” in the chorus was recorded up close; the verses were sung a step away from the mic — the distance between night and morning, rebuilt as mic distance. The pad in the second half slowly turns colder, matched to the speed of a window getting brighter.

The line is both an excuse and a spell. It was a rule meant to keep two people from hurting each other — but singing it, the rule is what hurts most.
